An exciting opportunity has arisen to join the National Ballistics Intelligence Service (NABIS) at our HQ in Birmingham as Head of International Development (Western Balkans).

We deliver fast-time ballistic intelligence as well as tactical and strategic intelligence to tackle all aspects of firearms related crime in the UK.

This is a new post which is intended to support the work of international partners in the Western Balkans to stem the flow of unlawful firearms reaching the UK. Working with the Home Office and UK Government partners you will develop relationships to create a series of regionally based 'Firearms Focal Points' to improve intelligence flows and liaison activity on firearms issues that impact the UK.

The post holder will be based in the UK but will be expected to travel regularly to the region to help deliver a four year project, reviewable annually subject to continued Home Office funding. You will be expected to liaise and build relationships with government and law enforcement representatives in the Western Balkans to help assess current capabilities and make recommendations around future capabilities, with the intention of delivering a program to set up a series of regionally based firearms focal points in each of the countries of the region.
