Further Arrest After Thamesmead Fatal Shooting

Officers investigating a murder at Western Way, Thamesmead on 1 February have arrested a 23-year-old man.
The man was arrested yesterday (10 February) and has been bailed to return on a date in mid April.
Detectives are continuing to appeal for information following the murder in Thamesmead.
Police were called to Erebus Drive, SE28, to reports of shots fired at 04:30hrs on Sunday, 1 February. Borough officers made their way to the scene.
While on their way to the incident, the officers then came across two cars stopped in the road in Western Way, Thamesmead - a dark blue Ford Focus and a grey Audi A3 - containing a total of three occupants.
One of the occupants in the Ford Focus had gunshot wounds.
London Ambulance Service attended and the man, aged in his 20s, was taken to a London hospital where he died at approximately 06:30hrs.
The two other men in the cars were not arrested.
Next of kin have been informed. A post mortem examination and formal identification will take place in due course.
Two women aged 26 and 24 and four men aged 19, 25, 19, and 19 arrested in connection with this investigation have been bailed to a date in mid March.
Five other men aged 23, 22, 23, 25, and 24 have been released with no further action.
Enquiries are on-going. Detectives from Homicide and Major Crime Command investigate.
