Gun Recovered After Police Raid In Coventry

A Coventry man has been charged with a firearm offence following a raid by police on Friday 30 January, in which a gun was recovered.
David Smith, aged 25, unemployed, from Kings George's Avenue, Foleshill will appear before Birmingham Magistrates Court this morning (Monday 2 February) charged with possessing a gun without a licence and handling stolen goods.
He was arrested by West Midlands Police officers on Friday following a warrant at an address in King George's Avenue.
During a search of the property police recovered a double-barrelled shotgun which will now be sent off for forensic analysis to see if there are any links to other incidents.
A 28-year-old man from Banbury and a 23-year-old woman from Foleshill were also arrested on suspicion of possessing a firearm without a licence, both have been bailed while enquiries continue.
