Injury Shooting In Waltham Forest

Detectives are appealing for information and witnesses following a shooting in Waltham Forest.

Police were called at 02:13hrs on Tuesday, 12 April, to reports of a number of people breaking into a residential address in Grove Green Road, E11.

Officers attended and three men were seen fleeing the address in a dark coloured vehicle.

On entering the address officers found a 31-year-old man with injuries consistent with being shot and firearms officers were called to the scene. The London Ambulance Service was also in attendance and the victim was taken to an east London hospital for treatment to his injuries. He has since been discharged.

Detectives from the Trident and Area Crime Command are investigating the shooting and are appealing for witnesses and information.

At this early stage officers believe that the one of the three men was in possession of a firearm as he fled. It is unknown at this time what direction the vehicle left the scene. The suspects are described as black men who were all wearing dark clothing.

Detective Sergeant Haroun Mason from the Trident and Area Crime Command said:"I am appealing to anyone who may have witnessed the three men gaining access to the address in Grove Green Road or who witnessed them fleeing the scene following the shooting.

"I am also keen to hear from anyone who saw a dark coloured vehicle parked for a short period of time within the vicinity Hampton Road after the incident. Any information, no matter how small, may assist us with furthering our investigation."

No arrests have been made and enquires continue.
