NaVCIS Investigations Manager (Deputy Head of Unit)
Rank: Police staff, permanent (however consideration will be given for a one-year secondment (extendable) for candidates who wish to develop their skills in this area)
Salary: £35,808 - £38,925 per annum
Location: College of Policing, Ryton on the outskirts of Coventry
Take a lead on tackling organised crime linked to vehicle financing in a police unit that helps co-ordinate the national response to threat, harm and risk.
About us: NaVCIS is theNational Vehicle Crime Intelligence Service, a police unit dedicated to preventing and detecting vehicle finance sector crime and supporting our law enforcement colleagues.
With operations at ports, a dedicated Vehicle Theft and Fraud Unit, intelligence capabilities and support for leisure, freight and agricultural sectors, our work is wide-ranging. We recovered millions of pounds worth of vehicle assets each year and disseminate information that helps industry save thousands more in preventing fraud.
NaVCIS represents UK policing as part of the NPCC's portfolio, and work closely with the National Crime Agency, UK Border Force and government departments.
This is a pivotal role that contributes to the unit's reputation as a national policing unit with specialism in tackling vehicle finance sector criminality - join us and help make a difference!
What you'll need to succeed: You will bring your experience from an investigations background providing leadership and
strategies for fraud/theft investigations across the unit. You will have a pivotal role in identifying and addressing organised vehicle crime as part of a multi-agency approach across force/regional & national boundaries.
This is an opportunity to manage a team which is expanding due to increases in demand with the successful candidatehaving a pivotal role in helping to ensure the delivery of our services continue to be effective and efficient.
The role would suit a candidate with good attention to detail and excellent communication skills who enjoys co-ordinating a team and working to deadlines.
