Man Arrested In Connection With Two Attempt Murders

Detectives from the specialist Matrix team at Merseyside Police have arrested a 24-year-old man from Bootle following an injury shooting in Sefton on Monday, 25 July 2016.

Officers were called to Coney Crescent in Crosby at 10.15pm on 25 July to reportsthat a 23-year-old man had been shot in the arm. Following extensive inquiries detectives now believe the victim was probably shot on Edgemoor Close, Crosby, and the arrest was made yesterday afternoon (31 July).

The arrested male was arrested on suspicion of attempted murder following the incident on 25 July. He has also been arrested on suspicion of possession of a firearm and suspicion of attempted murder following a shooting in Monfa Road, Bootle, on 11 May, 2015.

He has been taken to a police station where he will be questioned by detectives.
