Man Due In Court After Coventry Shooting
15th November 2016
Police investigating a shooting in Coventry last month have charged a man with attempted murder.
Unemployed Jason Cornwall, aged 30, from Arundal Road, will appear before Coventry Magistrates Court this morning (Tuesday 15 November). He is also charged with possession of a firearm with intent to endanger life.
He was charged after a 22-year-old man was shot in the arm and leg at around 5.30pm on Saturday 29 October, on the Coat of Arms Bridge Road in Stivichall.
The man was taken to hospital to be treated for his injuries, where he remains in a stable condition.
A 22-year-old man, also arrested on suspicion of robbery in connection with the incident, has been bailed while police enquiries continue.
Detective Sergeant Joel Mildinhall, from Force CID, said: "Investigations are on-going into the incident and I would appeal to anyone who was in or around the Coat of Arms Bridge Road and Stivichall Croft area at around 5.30pm who has not yet spoken to us to get in touch."
Anyone who has any information to assist the enquiry is urged to call police on 101 or Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555 111.
