Man In Bolton Dies After Being Shot

A man in Bolton has died after being shot.

Shortly before 11:10pm on Thursday 3 November 2016, police were called to Manchester Road, Westhoughton to what was initially reported as a failure to stop collision.

Officers attended and found a 28-year-old man with gunshot wounds.

He was taken to hospital in a life threatening condition but has now sadly died.

Detective Superintendent Jon Chadwick, Head of GMP's Major Incident Team said: "We are very much in the early stages of our investigation and we're working to establish exactly what has happened to this man.

"He was taken to hospital but has now sadly died and we are keen to hear from anyone who may have any information about the circumstances leading up to him being found by police."
