Man Shot In The Leg - Greater Manchester
9th March 2015
Greater Manchester Police are appealing for information and witnesses after a man was shot in the leg over the weekend
At around 10.30pm on Saturday 7 March 2015, a 29-year-old man was shot in the leg on Northmoor Road in Longsight.
He went to hospital some hours later and police were called there shortly before 3.30am on Sunday 8 March. He remains in hospital for treatment but his injuries are not thought to be life threatening.
Detective Inspector Adrian Gallagher said: "At this time we understand a car pulled up alongside the man while he was walking along Northmoor Road. He heard a bang and the vehicle drove off. He did not go straight to hospital or call police but we were notified by the hospital later.
"We are working to establish who may be behind the shooting and would ask if anyone saw or heard anything in the area on Saturday night that they contact police.
"We cannot allow individuals or groups to use weapons or intimidate and threaten our communities so would urge anyone with information to speak to us."
Anyone with information should call Greater Manchester Police on 0161 856 4223 or the independent charity Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555 111.
