Man Shot In The Shoulder In Ipswich, Suffolk

Four men have been arrested on suspicion of GBH and possession of controlled drugs with intent to supply following an incident at Siloam Place in Ipswich.

Police were alerted just after 12.20am today, Tuesday 22 November, to reports of a loud noise at Siloam Place. A few minutes later police received a call from the ambulance service reporting someone had been attacked at the same location and had injuries to his upper arms.

Officers attended the address where the incident was said to have happened however no one was found at the property. Enquiries got underway to determine what had occurred.

Around 1.20am police took a further call reporting that a young man had arrived at Ipswich Hospital just before 1am with a suspected gunshot wound to his shoulder. He was taken for surgery. At this time his injuries are not thought to be life-threatening.

An investigation has begun and the address has been cordoned off while these enquiries continue. The young man who was injured is not believed to be from the Ipswich area.

Just before 3am four men were arrested in Ipswich in connection with the incident. They are being taken into custody at Martlesham Police Investigation Centre where they will be interviewed by officers.

Police are asking anyone who may have seen anything in the Siloam Place area of Ipswich during the course of Monday evening or into the early hours of today to call Suffolk Police on 101, quoting CAD number 17 of today, Tuesday 22 November, or Crimestoppers, anonymously if required, on 0800 555 111.
