Officers Return To Scene Of Shootings

A week after the murders of Annie Besala Ekofo, and her nephew Bervil Kalikaka-Ekofo, in East Finchley, police officers will return to Elmhurst Crescent.

Detectives and uniformed colleagues will be in the area on Thursday, 22 September, to speak to people who would have been up and about, in the area at the time of the shootings.

The post mortem examination of Annie Besala Ekofo, 53 (03.03.63), of Elmhurst Crescent, N2; concluded at Northwick Park Hospital today, Wednesday, 21 September. The cause of death was found to be a gun shot wound to the chest.

Police were called by London Ambulance Service at approximately 06:25hrs on Thursday, 15 September, to reports of two people injured at an address in Elmshurst Crescent, N2.

Officers attended the address and found Mrs Besala and her nephew suffering from gunshot injuries. Both were pronounced dead at the scene.

A post mortem examination for Bervil Kalikaka-Ekofo, 21 (10.11.94) took place at Northwick Park Hospital on Saturday, 17 September. The cause of death was a gun shot wound to the head.

Four other people, including a child, who were also inside the address at the time were not harmed.

Detective Chief Inspector Andrew Partridge from the Homicide and Major Crime Command (HMCC) continues to lead the investigation.
