Shots Fired In Dovecot, Merseyside

Merseyside Police is investigating after shots were fired in Dovecot in the early hours of Sunday morning (21 June).
No-one was injured but damage was caused to the front of a house.
The shooting happened in Kemsley Road at 4am. Patrols were called and found damage to a front window caused by what detectives believe was a shotgun.
The house was cordonned off to allow forensic examinations to take place during daylight hours on Sunday.
The force's Matrix Serious Organised Crime unit is investigating this incident as well as reports that loud bangs, believed by residents to be gunshots, were heard in Aldwark Road five hours earlier at 10.37pm.
The house was secured overnight to allow a comprehensive search for evidence of a firearms discharge to take place during the rest of the weekend however no evidence has so far been found.
Detectives are carrying out extensive enquiries into whether the shooting in Kemsley Road and a loud bang in Aldwark Road five hours earlier are linked.
Neighbourhood patrols have been stepped up in the area to provide reassurance to the local community.
