Three People Shot At In Birmingham

Detectives have launched an investigation after reports that three people were injured after a shot was fired in the Erdington area of Birmingham in the early hours of yesterday morning (1 November).

Police were called to Windfall Court at 1.45am by paramedics who had responded to reports that two men and a woman had suffered minor injuries following disorder.

Initial investigations suggest that one of the men and the woman had suffered injuries to their legs after being shot at . They were taken to hospital for treatment and the woman was later released.

The other man is believed to have been hit over the head and remains in hospital today.

Specialist officers searched the scene for clues the road was closed. Enquiries are on-going.

DS Mark Allen, from Birmingham Police, said: "We are clearly in the very early stages of this investigation however at this stage we do not believe this was a random attack.

"There is also nothing to suggest that this offence is linked to any other crimes that have happened in the city in recent days.

"Gun crime is completely unacceptable and our officers will continue to gather evidence today to help us to identify who was responsible.

"We would ask anyone with any information about what happened to come forward and contact us as soon as possible."
